The Externship is designed to give each student practical, on-the-job experience by working with an attorney, judge, or legal department of a corporation. Student externs will receive academic credit for completing their externship with a respective sponsor who is willing to assume supervision and provide hands-on training. It’s a great way for employers to see how much potential the paralegal student has in the field. You’ll get to see their skills and work ethic as an extern—and might choose to bring them on as a paid employee after the externship phase.
If your law firm or corporate legal department would like to sponsor an extern, please contact our Director of Career Services for more information.
