The Paralegal Certificate program is streamlined to provide education in the most employable and demanding areas of the law. Students can choose from campus-based or online paralegal certificate options.
This program is perfect for those who already have a college degree, and complements their prior education and experience with essential paralegal skills. The Paralegal Certificate is also a great first step for those seeking their first college degree, and all classes included in the Paralegal Certificate transfer directly into both the Associate of Applied Science Degree Paralegal program and the Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business degree programs.
Paralegal Associate Degree
The Associate of Applied Science Degree Paralegal Program ensures thorough preparation for a paralegal career by including each area of law covered in the Paralegal Certificate program with the addition of law specialty courses such as Immigration Law, Criminal Law, E-Discovery, Oil and Gas, Wills, Trusts and Probate, and more. Additional general education and computer courses complete the requirements for this paralegal degree program.
For students without a prior college degree, this program enables them to obtain the recommended level of education and training prior to competing for better law-related jobs and opportunities. Students can choose from campus-based or online paralegal degree options.
Graduates of the associate degree program seeking to advance or enhance their careers can transfer their credits* directly into the Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business program.
Bachelor's Degree
The Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business program provides students with the additional knowledge and skills essential to furthering their chosen careers. Whether they seek to enhance their existing paralegal career, qualify for jobs that require a 4-year degree, or want to pursue opportunities in the business sector, this degree plan can help further their career objectives.
Graduates of the Paralegal Certificate or Associate of Applied Science Paralegal Program can transfer their credits* into the bachelor's degree program thereby reducing the cost and time required to complete their studies.
The Paralegal Profession
Paralegals and legal assistants do a variety of tasks to support lawyers, including maintaining and organizing files, conducting legal research, and drafting documents. Paralegals and legal assistants are found in all types of organizations, but most work for law firms, corporate legal departments, or government agencies. (read more)

Business Courses
Center for Advanced Legal Studies now offers business courses specifically selected and designed to help paralegals advance and enhance their careers by earning a Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business degree. These courses represent a practical approach to adding knowledge and skills to the legal experience gained in paralegal programs and provide a well-rounded business curriculum.
Criminal Justice Courses
As part of the curriculum required in the Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business degree program, students will study criminal justice courses including Introduction to Criminal Justice and Criminology.
General Education Courses
Students at Center for Advanced Legal Studies complete academic general education courses as part of the Associate Degree and Bachelor's Degree curriculum.
Seminars
By request of our alumni and employers, Center for Advanced Legal Studies offers continuing education paralegal seminars that will enhance your career.
Alumni receive a discount on all seminars, and the CP Exam Prep Seminar is FREE to all exiting graduates. In addition, some of the sessions are approved for paralegal continuing education credit (CLE), so you can fulfill your obligation to the profession and to the various paralegal associations to which you may belong.
