Center for Advanced Legal Studies (CALS) has been awarded the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) 2024-2025 School of Excellence Award. As stated in a letter from ACCSC dated July 17, 2025,
The ACCSC School of Excellence Award is intended to recognize ACCSC-accredited institutions that have demonstrated a commitment to the expectations and rigors of accreditation as well as efforts in maintaining high levels of achievement among their students.
Recognition
As a School of Excellence, Center for Advanced Legal Studies will be honored throughout the ACCSC Professional Development Conference (PDC). The PDC will be held September 15-17, 2025, in Arlington Virginia. Center for Advanced Legal Studies will be presented with the School of Excellence award during the Annual Meeting and Institutional Awards Celebration on Wednesday, September 17, at 10:30 AM.
Of 265 institutions eligible to receive this award, only 19 were conferred this honor.

Center for Advanced Legal Studies earned initial accreditation from ACCSC in 2020 to develop its new Bachelor of Arts in Law and Business degree program, and was granted a 5-year renewal of accreditation last December. Since the program’s launch on January 29, 2024, 95 students have enrolled, and the first graduate completed his studies in May. CALS will honor him along with an additional seven graduates during the upcoming August virtual graduation ceremony. All of us at Center for Advanced Legal Studies are exceedingly proud of their accomplishments, offer them our sincerest congratulations, and wish them much success in their future endeavors.
Associate Director
Eric received his Paralegal Certificate from Center for Advanced Legal Studies (CALS) in 1988 and worked as a paralegal in Houston, Texas, for six years. Eric returned to CALS in 1996 and has served in numerous roles. Eric helped migrate traditional paralegal classes and programs online and more recently developed the Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business program.
