The Paralegal Certificate program is designed for students who have previously earned an associate degree or higher, and complements their prior education and experience with essential paralegal skills. This program is streamlined to provide education in the most employable and demanding areas of the law. The Paralegal Certificate consists of 30 semester credits of accredited college classes.
Students can earn their certificate in 10 months taking classes 100% online two evenings per week.
The Associate of Applied Science Degree Paralegal Program ensures thorough preparation for a paralegal career by including each area of law covered in the Paralegal Certificate program with the addition of law specialty course electives such as Immigration Law, E-Discovery, Oil and Gas, Wills, Trusts and Probate, and more. Additional general education courses complete the 60 semester hour requirement for this paralegal degree program.
For students without a prior college degree, this program enables them to obtain the recommended level of education and training prior to competing for better law-related jobs and opportunities. Students attend classes two evenings per week through online paralegal classes.
Graduates of the associate degree program seeking to advance or enhance their careers can transfer their credits directly into the Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business program.
The Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business program provides students with the additional knowledge and skills essential to furthering their chosen careers. Whether they seek to enhance their existing paralegal career, qualify for jobs that require a 4-year degree, or want to pursue opportunities in the business sector, this degree plan can help further their career objectives.
Graduates of the Paralegal Certificate or Associate of Applied Science Paralegal Program can transfer their credits into the bachelor’s degree program thereby reducing the cost and time required to complete their studies.
This bachelor’s degree requires the completion of 120 semester credit hours of college courses.
Paralegals and legal assistants do a variety of tasks to support lawyers, including maintaining and organizing files, conducting legal research, and drafting documents. Paralegals and legal assistants are found in all types of organizations, but most work for law firms, corporate legal departments, or government agencies. (read more)

Center for Advanced Legal Studies now offers business courses specifically selected and designed to help paralegals advance and enhance their careers by earning a Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business degree. These courses represent a practical approach to adding knowledge and skills to the legal experience gained in paralegal programs and provide a well-rounded business curriculum.
As part of the curriculum required in the Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business degree program, students will study criminal justice courses including Introduction to Criminal Justice and Criminology.
Students at Center for Advanced Legal Studies complete academic general education courses as part of the Associate Degree and Bachelor’s Degree curriculum.
