At Center for Advanced Legal Studies (CALS) our staff, faculty, students, and graduates understand the importance of obtaining a quality, hands-on paralegal education. We train students to be able to work and excel in the legal or commercial environment, in the private or public sector. Our graduates are equipped to work for law firms, businesses, government, and non-profit organizations. Our students learn to perform practical legal work that they would perform on the job for their supervising attorneys. And with the needs of the legal community in mind, students experience situations that help teach them to adapt to the ever-changing role of paralegals.

Qualification
The paralegal certificate program is designed for students who have already earned their bachelor’s degree. It provides a quality paralegal education in the most demanding and employable areas of the law. This is a short but comprehensive program allowing increased opportunity for employment to those who have an interest in the law, know they want a legal career, and might even be considering law school. The paralegal certificate program is designed for those who are serious about a legal career and desire a more thorough preparation than a continuing education program at a university can provide.
Courses
CALS’ paralegal certificate program, offered through traditional day classes or online classes, offers the following core legal courses: Introduction to Law and Ethics, Interviewing and Investigation, Legal Research and Writing, Civil Procedure, Personal Injury, Computers and the Law, Corporate and Business Law, Family Law, Real Estate, and Intellectual Property.
