As a private, non-profit, independent, accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education, ACCSC is a reliable authority that conducts periodic reviews of member schools to evaluate and ensure that they meet standards and protocols in all aspects of campus operations, including:
• Management and Administrative Operations,
• Program Requirements,
• Educational Administration and Faculty Qualifications,
• Student Recruiting and Advertising,
• Admissions Policies and Practices,
• Student Services,
• Student Achievement, and
• Distance Education
ACCSC-accredited schools must also demonstrate that they meet or exceed benchmark graduation and employment rates in all programs offered. This additional burden beyond what is typically required of public institutions should reassure individuals pursuing paralegal education and training at CALS regarding the quality of their academic experience.
After the site visit in April 2024 and the response from CALS to the site visit team's report and recommendations, Center for Advanced Legal Studies received notification of a five-year accreditation renewal on December 4, 2024. This renewal is valid through May 2029.
Site visits by institutional accrediting agencies like ACCSC play a crucial role in validating a school's commitment and ability to comply with rigorous regulatory requirements critical to institutional integrity and ongoing accreditation. This positive outcome highlights CALS' dedication to best practices and creating an impactful learning environment that delivers results for its students.
The site team was particularly impressed with the results of active student surveys. During the evaluation, the team received responses from 37% of the active student body, who provided high satisfaction ratings in multiple areas. Most notably, CALS students rated faculty at 99%. According to the site team, rarely is student feedback received that casts such a favorable light on a school, and team members expressed how impressive these results were.
CALS was highly commended in several major areas by students as evidenced by the following results:
Area | Student Satisfaction |
Admissions | 99% |
Financial Aid | 95% |
Academic Progress | 98% |
Student Services | 93% |
Faculty | 99% |
Library / Learning Resources | 94% |
Training Equipment | 95% |
Distance Education | 98% |
CALS extends gratitude and appreciation to the ACCSC site visit team for their hard work and dedication. Many team members who visited CALS in April are volunteers, motivated solely by a desire to help ensure the quality of educational programs accredited by ACCSC.
CALS earned ACCSC accreditation in 2020 to develop the Bachelor of Arts: Law and Business degree program, launched in January 2024. Part of the site visit team’s directive was to evaluate this new degree program. According to the renewal of accreditation received on December 4, 2024, “the Commission determined that Center for Advanced Legal Studies met the requirements for a New Degree Program, Law and Business (Bachelor of Arts), within the school’s scope of accreditation.”
